Kyle Labe is an undergrad at Emerson College, studying writing, literature and publishing, and journalism. His debut book Butterflies Behind Glass and Other Stories is out now through Wilde Press. He has had works published in Adelaide, Gauge, Sprout, The Underground, IO Literary Journal, Generic, Oddball, Without Collegiate Approval, and Teen Ink magazines, as well as showcased by the Hidden Lantern Festival and anthologized by Creative Communication, Emerson Poetry Project, and Z Publishing House. The latter dubbed him as one of “Massachusetts’s Emerging Writers.” His short story “Diary” won the Philcon Young Writers Contest.
Currently he serves as an editor for Emerson’s weekly newspaper, the Berkeley Beacon. He has interviewed state senators, published authors, filmmakers, correspondants for The New York Times, Slate, and The Boston Globe, and more. A former reporter for Emerson College Today, he is also a member of Emerson Poetry Project and writes biweekly literary blogs for the Undergraduate Students for Publishing website.
